Is it possible to use tennis rackets for squash or racquetball?

  1. David T Said,

you could, but it isn’t advisable because you could do more harm to the court or break the racquet. Why do you think they make special equipment. You wouldn’t use a set of dumbells to play baseball with would you?

  2. Dan B Said,

well it’s possible..but I don’t recommend it. Raquetball rackets are a lot different than tennis rackets. Mainly it’s the string tension. If you’re serious about getting good at either sport..than I highly recommend using the racket that’s suppose to be used for the sport.

  3. Ziel Said,

I wouldn’t (and I’m not sure that any place with racquetball courts would allow it). Tennis racquets are much longer and heavier, and they are made for a different type of swing than racquetball racquets. Using a tennis racquet for racquetball would be like using an ice hockey stick in field hockey.

Racquetball requires some wrist action. Doing that with something as heavy as a tennis racquet would destroy your wrist. Also, the smaller handle helps make it a little more maneuverable (and easier on the wrist).
